
About HsienYu Cheng (鄭先喻)
HsienYu Cheng (鄭先喻) was born in 1984 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He is an artist and software developer who makes artworks, software and experimental bio-electronic devices. His work looks at human behaviour, emotion, software and the relationship between people and machines, and uses humour to offer a distinctive view of society and the environment. He received the First Prize of the Taipei Digital Art Award in 2014, the First Prize for New Media Art at the Kaohsiung Art Award in 2017, the Tung Chung Prize in 2019 and the Visual Arts Award of the 19th Taishin Arts Award in 2021. In 2023 he received an S+T+ARTS Nomination / Honorary Mention at Ars Electronica. His solo and group exhibitions have been shown mainly in Taiwan, elsewhere in Asia and in Europe. Recent appearances include Ars Electronica 2023 in Linz, Sónar 2025 in Barcelona, and exhibitions in the Netherlands, Slovenia, Norway, Italy, Germany, France, Austria and Korea.
鄭先喻,1984 年生於台灣高雄,藝術家兼軟體開發人員。創作藝術作品、軟體及結合電子設備的實驗性生物電子裝置,透過聚焦人類行為、情感、軟體以及人機關係的作品,以幽默的方式傳達他對社會與環境的獨特見解。曾獲 2014 年台北數位藝術獎首獎、2017 年高雄獎新媒體藝術首獎、2019 年銅鐘藝術賞、2021 年第十九屆台新藝術獎視覺藝術獎,並於 2023 年獲得奧地利電子藝術節 S+T+ARTS 提名/榮譽獎。個展與聯展主要在台灣、亞洲及歐洲展出,近期參與 2023 年奧地利電子藝術節、2025 年巴塞隆納 Sónar 音樂節,以及荷蘭、斯洛維尼亞、挪威、義大利、德國、法國、奧地利、韓國等地的展覽。
